Government Sponsored Teaching Program - Anhui Province, China
|Native||Only for native English speakers|
The Anhui Teaching Exchange (ATE) program has been jointly set up by the Anhui Education Bureau and the Anhui State Administration of Foreign Expert Affairs.
Modelled after the Japanese Government JET program and the Korean Government EPIK program, ATE aims to bring internationalisation to local communities and improve education in schools throughout Anhui.
ATE is a Government sponsored program placing qualified foreign native English-speaking teachers in a variety of schools and educational institutions around Anhui. It aims to promote and foster high level English teaching in schools that may not have access to international resources
ATE is a direct response to national requirements from the Education ministry in Beijing that standards and requirements are in line with international standards. With that in mind, we ask that all candidates carefully check the eligibility requirements before applying.
All schools are approved and recommended by the Anhui Provincial Education Bureau or the Anhui Provincial State administration of Foreign Expert Affairs. Candidates are requested to select an age range from the 3 listed below however the ATE cannot guarantee a candidate’s 1st choice.
Candidates are placed according to the academic needs of each particular municipality as decided by the Anhui Provincial Education Bureau. We do try to ensure that candidates are placed in their preferred age range and location.
Eligible applicants that pass the panel interview (initially via Skype) will attend orientation and training due to start at the end of August in the provincial capital of Hefei. Placements will start a week later.
Due to Government legislation, only teachers from the following countries are eligible to apply for the program.
Remuneration is commensurate with the previously mentioned JET and EPIK program with the base salary starting at 11500 RMB per month plus Accommodation, Utilities and Medical Insurance.
Fully furnished apartments are provided free of charge and come equipped with: Air Con, TV, Internet and Fridge/Freezer. Smaller 1 bedroom apartments are available for those candidates who prefer not to share and larger 3/4 bedroom apartments are available for those who wish to share. We cannot guarantee all applicants will receive their preferred accommodation choice, as allocation is dependent on which school you are placed at.
A Flight Allowance (up to 7000rmb) is payable at the end of the contract period (June 2017) The pay scale increases with additional academic qualifications, experience and time spent with the ATE program.
