One visiting foreign professor of English starting from August 25th, 2018
Due date: 07.11 ~ 07.25
Master's Degree required: Majors related to English, Linguistics, or TESOL preferred. PhD preferred.
1) 12 hours (maximum) of teaching online/offline English courses per
week (12 hours = 4 courses)
2) 4 working days, including Saturday classes and events (32 hours)
3) Weekly offline Saturday classes on campus (two hours each Saturday)
Note: Saturday classes run approximately 10 out of 15 Saturdays each semester. When there is no Saturday class, there will be other required events, such as the following:
-MT (travel to another province to spend the day/evening with students)
-Hiking (travel to a nearby province to hike and spend the day with students)
-Festivals (may be on or off campus; requires a roughly 8-hour commitment)
4) Online video chat class (usually 1 or 2 hours per week; sometimes at night)
5) Mandatory attendance at all school events, possibly including:
-trips to recruit students in other provinces
-dinners and meetings with students to support student clubs
-concerts and other promotional programs on Saturday evenings to promote a community spirit between professors and online students
-meetings and dinners with students for counseling and team building
6) Editing and proofreading course materials, research papers, exams,
and university documents
7) Video and audio recordings
8) Creating course materials
Terms of contract, Compensation, and Benefits
1) Annual contract (can be renewed)
2) Annual salary: 35 million KRW
3) Health Insurance
4) Insurance + Private Pension Plan
5) Summer and winter vacation (4 weeks each; 8 weeks total)
