The Jeung San Do Research Institute in Daejeon, South Korea, is seeking for a first-language English teacher for the President of the Institute with a Korean language proficiency of at least TOPIK level 4.
The Jeung San Do Research Institute is a unique institution focusing on
recovering and reinterpreting ancient Asian culture and history. The Institute
disseminates new discoveries of culture, especially new findings about the
spiritual domain, in various languages around the world.
If you work for the Institute, you will have an exciting opportunity to learn about the ancient but unknown spiritual cultures of the East.
This position entails speaking in English with the President of the Institute, preparing materials to improve his English, interpreting or translating his speech or writing, and the Institute's publications into English, participating the Institute's activity as well as doing English research for the President and the Institute.
English first-language speakers with a Master’s Degree or higher in Asian Studies or Korean Studies are preferred.
Those willing to commit for the long-term (e.g. five years) will be given preference.
Commensurate with education and experience
LENGTH OF CONTRACT:
One year, renewable
9 am – 6 pm, Monday-Friday
Rent-free accommodations (single furnished studio),
round-trip airfare, two weeks paid vacation, insurance (e.g., health) as mandated by the South Korean government, matching pension, and free meals at the Institute’s cafeteria, Monday to Friday. If necessary, the Institute will sponsor a candidate for the applicable visa.
