Bala-City International School is an International School located across three campuses in the city
of Kazan in Western Russia. Established five years ago, we provide an International education to
children aged 3-11. The school offers a complete International Curriculum, with lessons in English,
Russian and Tatar.
As of September 2018, the International programme will follow the Cambridge Primary Curriculum
from ages 5-11.
Our needs
Our pupil numbers are growing, and as of September 2018 we will be in a position to appoint new
International Teachers into the following positions:
• International Class Teacher, Key Stage 1
• International Class Teacher, Key Stage 2
International class teachers have responsibility for teaching 24 lessons per week, with limited
extra-curricular responsibilities on top of this. International Class Teachers will report directly to the
Head Teacher (International). English will be the language of instruction for all lessons taught by
International Teachers.
We are seeking enthusiastic, innovative and open-minded teachers who are passionate about
delivering a quality programme of education to our children. In particular, we seek teachers who
are interested in bilingual education and teaching children for whom English is an Additional
Language. Newly Qualified Teachers are more than welcome to apply.

We offer a complete employment package to successful applicants. This includes a US Dollar
salary including year-end bonus, medical insurance, accommodation (or accommodation
allowance), visa fees and visa application support, an economy class return flight to Kazan from
the successful applicant’s country of origin, and a guaranteed calendar of vacations for the

About Kazan
Russia’s ‘Third Capital’, Kazan is the largest city and capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, an
autonomous subnational body within the Russian Federation. With a population of just over one
million, Kazan is large enough to offer all the diverse attractions of a large city, while being compact
enough to feel homely and inviting. The city is proud of its rich history, and all around the city, one
can see reminders of not only Russian and Tatar influences but a wider international flavour too.
The Kazan Kremlin, which incorporates the largest mosque in Russia, is a UNESCO World
Heritage Site. Transportation is easy, with the Kazan Metro system being the quickest ways to get
around. In addition, the city has an abundance of trams, buses and a very good taxi service. Kazan
International Airport provides links to several European destinations as well as many other cities
within Russia.
