Description

Native English Teacher in China

Our client is looking for native English speakers to teach in China. Multiple K-12 positions are available, and training will be provided for qualified candidates.

 

Duties

Teach basic academic skills in English Language arts, math, science, and social studies. This includes building the foundation for mastery in these subjects as the transition through the educational process. Students are also expected to learn social skills, humanities (study of Art, music, dance, and drama), and STEM related education.

 

Responsibilities

Teachers will plan lessons according to the international curriculum, and approved standards while formally and informally assessing students, and differentiate instruction based upon real data regarding student needs. Teachers are expected to lead students through creative play and hands-on activities. Teachers are expected to keep real time data on student performance and participate in all parent-teacher conferences (Teacher contracts will specify exact duties as they pertain to specific individuals).

Requirements

  • US citizen willing to relocate to or located in Hangzhou or Kunming, China

  • US teaching certificate is strongly preferred

  • Minimum of two years of related experience preferred

  • TESOL or TEFL certificate plus relevant work experience will be considered

  • International teaching experience is a plus

  • Working knowledge of principles, theories, methods, techniques, and strategies pertaining to teaching and learning

  • Demonstrated understanding of classroom management strategies, techniques and methods, and conflict resolution procedures

  • Demonstrated ability to write effective, engaging, rigorous, and high yield lesson plans based on the approved curriculum provided

  • Proficiency in selection and utilization of appropriate educational materials, supplies, equipment, technology and learning aids

  • Proficiency in conducting a comprehensive teaching and instruction program

  • Demonstrated understanding of child growth and development principles and theories

  • Valid US passport
