Online ESL Teacher for Magic Ears

Requirements

• In order to teach English with Magic Ears, you must:

• Have a big smile, a passion for teaching & love for kids

• Be an English native speaker from the U.S. or Canada

• Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in any subject, or be a student actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree (must provide official transcript)

• Hold a 120-hour ESL Certification*

• Plus, ESL/teaching experience preferred

*Magic Ears offers a fully-accredited 120-hour Advanced TESOL course for just $20. 

How long does the contract last?

• We require a 6-month minimum commitment with no minimum teaching requirements. At the end of each 6-month period, your performance will be reviewed by your Development Coach to determine whether or not you will receive a new contract offer.

What does a Magic Ears class look like?

• Magic Ears has a 1-on-4 (teacher-student) classroom model, and each class is 25 mins.

• Magic Ears ensures that each kid has sufficient interaction with the teacher as well as multiple opportunities to interact with and learn from other students.

Payment

• Our base pay ranges from $7.50-$10 per class depending on qualifications. With the two available bonuses, your base pay can rise to $9.50-$12 per class for a total of $19-$24/hr. Most ME teachers are earning $17-$26/hr.

• Magic Ears issues payments for the previous month’s classes around the 10th of the month (i.e., March classes are paid on April 10). Payslips are released by the 3rd of the month. In order to get paid on time, you must sign and submit your payslip by the 8th of the month. Even if your payment is being combined*, you must sign your payslip.

*Payments of $50 or less are combined with the next month’s earnings. Payments from $51-$100 can only be made via PayPal, or else they will be combined with the next month’s earnings.
