Requirements for being a NiceTalk Tutor:

Language Proficiency: English native speakers. Applicants with TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certificate or IELTS/TOEFL teaching experience will be preferred;  

Stable & High Internet Access (Required): Tutors' internet speed requires to consistently be above 300kbps for uploading and 500kbps for downloading;  

Updated Android/IOS Operating System: NiceTalk can be compatible with IOS and Android cellphones. Cellphones with above 7.0 IOS operation system and 4.0 Android operation system will be preferable;  

Quiet Environment: Make sure you are in a quiet place to engage with your students. Background noise can be a distraction for both of you.

How to apply?

How to start chatting with students?

After you have been approved to be a NiceTalk Tutor, you can click GO ONLINE to start taking requests whenever you are available. There will be two modes for a student, either random-call mode or direct-call mode. In random-call mode, you will be matched to the student according to your ratings; in direct-call mode, you are chosen by the student from the tutors’ list. 

When you are connected to a student, you can start your conversation by introducing yourself with a warm smile. Some students are talkative, and you can let them to take the lead. Others may be quieter, so you would need to lead the chat. When you feel like running out of topics, you can ask them details about their lives, jobs, families, interests, and so on. You can also pick up some topics from IELTS or TOEFL.

 How much do I get paid?

When you talk to a paying NiceTalk user, you get paid for each full minute you spend talking to them. Your hourly wage is $10 US dollars per hour.

How can I get paid?

You will need a PayPal account to get paid. We will pay you every week, as long as you have a balance above $20. The cutoff time is Monday, 3:00 AM GMT+8. You will receive money automatically in 3 or 4 business days(according to Chinese business calendar).
