Online ESL Teacher for Waijiaoyi

We provide collaborative online English classes for 8-16 years old learners mainly from the 3rd or 4th-tier cities of China. With well-designed class materials and interactive teaching tools, we help students not only improve their English language abilities but also connect them to a bigger world.

We are looking for teachers that are passionate and energetic in teaching young learners, with strong moral values and discipline, and with the willingness to become a committed teacher working for young English language learners.

Requirements:

• Speaks good English with native or neutral accent.

• TESOL/TEFL/CELTA certification, or willingness to obtain one.

• Desktop or Laptop computer with the re-quired camera specs.

• Internet connection speed of at least 2 mbps for download and upload.

• External microphone preferably USB-type with noise-cancellation feature.

• Commitment to a regular weekly working schedule.

Q&A

I don’t have any TESOL or TEFL certificate, can I still apply?

• Yes. The certificates teachers hold are taken into consideration. Nevertheless, we pay particular attention to the teacher’s accent, their teaching experience, educational background, their performance on demos and their overall personality.

What are the preferred working hours?

• During the spring (March to late June) and autumn (September to December) semester most classes will be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays from 08:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m. Beijing time. 

  During the summer break (July to August) and the winter break (January to February) we will have classes from Monday to Sunday, from 08:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m. Beijing time.

What is the duration of each class?

• Classes can be 25 or 50 minutes long, depending on the class type and the level of our students.

What method of payment does Waijiaoyi use when paying teachers’ salary?

• All money transfers will be made via PayPal only. The transfer will be made on the 10th of the following month.
