About Us

Formed in early 2014, Wonderkids is an online educational institution with ambition of changing our young pupils’ lives and providing our teachers with rewarding and meaningful teaching experiences.

We’re a comparatively small school. We have a faculty of under forty instructors and a student body of under four hundred, allowing us to maintain a personal connection with our staff and students and provide the support they need. Our main goal is to provide the best education we possibly can for our young students. As corny and cliche as it sounds, they truly are the future.

 We care about our teachers’ satisfaction as well as our students’ education, and as so strive to employ the most proficient, responsible, and passionate instructors we can find. We are dedicated to offering our teachers all the support they may need to be able to conduct lessons as effectively as possible.

 Our approach to language learning is to create an environment that facilitates supervised exploration of the language.

Students must learn in a way that they find value in and wouldn’t hesitate to transplant into real, everyday situations.

There’s a clear distinction when you speak to a student who has learned language from a book, and one who has learned to play and be creative with the language.

It’s a responsible teacher’s duty to identify the characteristics and needs of the student in order to develop and introduce the most effective materials, coursework and activities.

Job Requirements:

• Teachers with a minimum of 1 year of professional teaching experience.

• Applicants must be at least 23 years of age.

• We only recruit teachers who possess both a university degree as well as a professional teaching certificate (TEFL, TESOL, CELTA). Digital copies of these documents must be submitted for verification.

• All Wonder Kids teachers are required to sign an open-ended contract. The minimum duration of employment is 6 months.

• We hire qualified teachers of all nationalities.

• Applicants have native-level command of the language and a neutral accent.

• Headsets with built-in microphone to ensure quality audio quality.

• Reliable high-speed internet connections. Minimum download and upload speeds of 1Mbps each

• Minimum weekly commitment of 4 hours.

• You’ll be teaching mainly during our peak hours, which are typically 16:00-21:00 M-F and 8:00-21:00 S-S (China time).

 Job Description:

• All of our students are from China and aged 4-15

• Approximately 85% of our lessons are one-on-one.

• Group classes have a maximum of 3 students.

• Our lessons are either 45 or 60 minutes.

• We will provide the teacher with all the necessary materials you will need to effectively plan and deliver your lessons.

• Teachers to be well prepared for each and every lesson.

• Some courses, such as our science and phonics courses come with pre-made homework assignments and assessments, while other courses require teachers to create homework assignments and tests according to their students learning needs and goals.

• Before a student signs up for your formal lessons you will provide a trial lesson for him or her. Trial lessons are 30 minutes in length.

• We pay $5 for each 30-minute trial lesson.

 Payment:

1. General English classes start at USD16/hr. for 1-1 lessons and $20/hr. for group lessons. Subject specific classes generally start at $18/hr. for 1-1 lessons and $25/hr. for group lessons. 1-1 trial lessons are compensated at a rate of $10/hr. and group trials at a rate of $20/hr. Regular raises are offered once per year and normally coincide with teacher evaluations.

2. We pay our teachers on the 10th of every month for the previous month’s work via Paypal or bank wire transfer. And we cover the transfer fees!
